Physicians who wish to join the Medical Association of Southeast Louisiana (MASELA)are encouraged to join an affiliated medical society if qualified.
At present, there are two affiliated medical societies which are the founding medical societies. Other physician organizations are invited to affiliate with MASELA. MASELA wishes to observe the rich history and traditions of its founding societies, and looks forward to these future celebrations.
Founded in 1959 by 35 Jefferson Parish physicians, the Jefferson Parish Medical Society (JPMS) provides a strong voice for patient advocacy and physician development. Today, JPMS has over 300 members across all specialties and practice settings.

Founded in 1878, the Orleans Parish Medical Society (OPMS) unites physicians to advance medical knowledge, promote public health, and support professional development. From addressing yellow fever to modern public health initiatives, OPMS continues to serve physicians and the community.

Founded in 1929, OMSA is a community of physicians and their families dedicated to advancing health, education, and philanthropy in New Orleans. Members support the Orleans Parish Medical Society through volunteer work, community service, and educational initiatives.
